Q. What can you expect?  

Generally Just Kiddin play 2 x 90 minute sets, but for functions we work with you to build an evening that suits your requirements. We tailor our sets to our audiences, we may include more vintage songs and vice versa for the younger crowds. Given reasonable warning, the band can learn a few specific requests, e.g. first dance at weddings, favourite song, etc.. Just Kiddin also welcome participation for any budding rock star brides, grooms or embarrassing uncles.

Q. How is the playlist decided? 

We use our experience to create a playlist that we know will get the crowd moving. We keep a close eye on the dance floor during the evening, and make adjustments based on the crowd reaction. The first set is designed to engage the audience and get their feet twitching, the second to keep them dancing and make sure the they really enjoys themselves. 

Q. Can I see a song list?

Yes, of course! We have some songs updated on our Lemon Rock, click here to view the many songs we cover.

Q. What PA System? 

No venue is too big or small! We use Samson XM910, ten channel, 900 Watt powered mixer with built-in 24 BIT DSP (Digital Signal Processor) effects. This provides the options of 2 x 450 Watts Main, or 450 Watt Main / 450 Watt Monitor, or 900 Watts Bridged power operating modes. The Main/Monitor 2x450 watts PA system will deliver classic sounds to your audience.

Q. What about background music? 

No problem, we can provide background music or clients can use their own playlists from phones or tablets plugged directly into our sound system. 

Q. Do you accept song requests and how many can I have? 

Yes, if we receive a request, even on the night, we will definitely play it if we can. 

Q. Can we use your equipment to make speeches? 

Yes! No problem, please just let us know so we can be prepared for this.


Q. Do you charge extra lighting equipment? 

We include some stage and “disco” lighting but if additional lights are required we will need to charge for the hiring and set up.

Q. Will you set up before my guests arrive? 

We usually arrive around an hour and half before agreed start time to set up and carry out a sound level check. If you want us to set up earlier we can do this but, depending on the time gap, we may have to adjust the fee. 

Q. What sort of electrical supply do you need?  

One 13 amp mains socket minimum. For your peace of mind a second source would be useful, although we’ve never needed it yet.

Q. How much space do you need? 

Ideally a space of 5m x 3m (although this is not a requirement). If you are hiring us for an outdoor do, we would need some kind of covering/marquee to protect the equipment from rain. 

Q. What will you wear? 

Just Kiddin always take care to always look appropriately presented. In Pubs and Clubs they take a relaxed approach but for formal evenings they usually wear black trousers, shirts, jackets and shoes. Our view is this is your evening and we will do everything you require to meet your requirements.

Q. Can I see the band in action before I book?

Q. How much deposit do you require? 

Bookings can be secured with a £100 deposit. The remaining balance is due on the day, before the performance. 

Q. What happens if I cancel? 

In the event of cancellation, the following cancellation fees will apply: 

More than 12 weeks prior to show - no cancellation fee. Less than 12 weeks - no refund of deposit, as we will have turned down other engagements by this timeframe.
